I prefer to remove the detachable shade and hang the cool tube underneath a standard shade. You may need to attach a hook on the under surface of each end of that shade to hang the cool tube.

The pyrex tube traps the hot air from the bulb and then you need to attach a fan to blow the hot air away and outside your growing area.

We recommend using aluminium ducting and tape to attach the fan to the cool tube as plastic ducting can melt if you have a fan failure. The aluminium sleeves at the end of the cool tube can get quite hot if there is no air movement to cool things down.

A centrifugal or mixed flow fan is recommended as your exhaust fan. You can link at least 2 cool tubes together with this fan.
