Vermiculite has many applications in the horticulural world. Whereas our main use for it is as a hydroponic medium, it can also be used as a soil conditioner to help create air channels for better root development, to store bulbs and root crops as its absorbant nature regulates the moisture on the outside of the bulb/root crop and helps prevent mildews and can be used for seed germination.
